Ah, Büdingen... mediaeval city defences, ancient half-timbered houses and loads of cars.

  • After a 24 year absence, I got to visit Budingen once again, this February.

The town has changed a bit, grown a bit and even the now-deserted Armstrong Kaserne, did not look too familiar (and I almost got detained for taking a picture of the entrance, to this empty Kaserne!)

Old town pretty well looked the same.

Walhalla is now gone and in its place is a Chinese restaurant!? Oy!

Cafe Hell was still there... So was the Hole in the Wall but, Wolfgang had forgotten me! lol

  • 24 years is a long time, of course. I always find it strange visiting places you knew long ago: it's *almost* how you remember it, but so many things are subtly different from what you thought you knew. It's as if you've slipped into a parallel universe.
