The film was a complete sham, depicting unsubstantiated conjecture as "history," while leaving out the context of the story. It was an obvious attempt to mislead it's viewers and take yet another shot at Mormons, again.

Do people really believe this movie portrays the truth? I wonder why this movie doesn't talk about how severe the persecution of the saints was. Its a completely 1-sided and historically inaccurate movie. Brigham sent word for the saints to NOT attack. This message arrived 2 days after the incident took place.

uh, no. the Fancher-Baker party did not persecute the Mormons. they were obviously a peaceful emigration party that included families with children.

They are very similar to terrorists. This mormon church just sounds like that cult of Islam. Smith just made up new rules so he could satisfy his lust and have more wives. Muhammad did the same thing. Mormans marry underage girls. Muhammad did the same thing. Smith created a whole new way for his people to live, harshly treating any who leave the church. Muhammad's Islam does the same thing and Islam is the work of the devil as sure as Jesus is the son of god.

I think Voight is a good man at heart, but obviously misinformed as to what actually happened in Mountain Meadows - which was basically a tragic mistake that a very small group of scared Mormons made while fortifying themselves against their persecutors. This tragedy was NOT committed in any way, shape or form by Brigham Young, by the way.

all I can say to this is that the world can talk.... we'll let them talk after all we can do, it is up to them to decide. because in the end they know nothing about God... his ways are higher than man. his thoughts are not our thoughts. people who point fingers at the church are those who like to take the easy road. if you want to find out, please do yourself a favor and speak to missionaries. and last but not least.... pray...

I'll just say, I have a strong and spiritual testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Book of Mormon is packed with astonishingly wonderful wisdoms and truths pertaining to how man should love and serve his neighbor, and what kind of being god, or, the creator of all living things, is like.
