this is great! I just recorded roscoe holcombs version of the song and was aware that robert hicks had recorded it originally and was eager to compare the two versions. thanks for filling in the blank - i just subscribed to your channel.

@pamirs94 Thank you for your kind comments. The mics are an AKG Perception 100 for the vocals and an AKG 1000S for the guitar. I use these same mics for my local gigs. Both are condensers.

That is an interesting story about your grandad claiming to have written this song. There was another man named "Curly" that is, Curley Weaver who was a Georgia musician who was a close friend of Robert Hicks (Barbeque Bob) who recorded this song in 1927. Doesn't sound like he was related to your grandad. This record was a pretty good seller in its time. Maybe someone out there has some more info on James Tutter. James Clem
