hey, i used to know handsome, probably spent his last days with him--- we went to toronto island and he stayed there, the rest of us took the ferry, the next day, he was dead. I knew him for about 2 years in Kensington Market,. His music was excellent, very widely copied, and he was always fun to jam with. I know that all musicians that the worked with miss him, but as for me, he was a friend, and i miss him

Listening to the original Johnny Too Bad on the longest day of the year, and thinking of Ned's wonderful cover. Sure wish he were still playing it.

Handsome Ned what can i say this vid is rare as hens teeth if you dont know who Ned is i suggest you find out big influence on the canadian music scene back in the 80's he ruled Toronto's rockabilly cowpunk sounds comin out of the old bars on Queen St west oh those were the days the day Ned died was a sad day without Handsome Ned bands like Blue Rodeo The Sadies wouldsound a lil dffierent RIP ROBIN STEEL RAIL BLUE

Ned was a one man welcoming commitee to just about every musician who came to town.He loved to entertain folks.He had the knack of making his audience feel that each one of them was his close personal friend.This video was shot at The Railway Club in Vancouver by Russ Young.He was a crusader on a mission to spread country and western music,square dancing,in anything that had to do with cowboy culture.Keith Demic gave him the name and band so he claimed pertly true as Steve and J.D. were Demics.
