@Inzo42 You haven't seen Stanley Clarke Live then. Granted some of his albums are duds(Hideaway's good), but he is arguably the best bass guitarist alive. He's as not popular or as well know as say Les Claypool or Flea but he's better. And forget Schooldays, that's his best known song not his best, by far.

@hurry2014 Not on par. Stanley isn't all that. I have three of his albums and they're boring as hell. Any video of his I pull up on youtube he's just playing that same old riff from School Days- he's a one trick pony. He could never play what Mark just played up above. He has a reputation because he was one of the first slapper but I haven't really seen him do much with it.

Mark is still the Terminator of bassguitarist :-)...Rulez ! Nr 1 !!! This song makes all of my body move..fantastic !!

Mark King is truly the Jimmy Hendrix of the bass guitar!
-
Wow, on par with Stanley Clark!

@barkon I agree, though there are mistakes. In certain passages his thumb catches two strings (most noticeable on the intro and outro riff), and he occasionally misses a pop plus other very minor "misses".
But christ, I'm not having a go; it's a hard tune plus he's in the moment buzzing his tits off and sweating his nads off, like you say, flailing about. It's amazing it isn't a car crash. Outstanding stuff.

Why doesn’t this get more views? These guys are great musicians and the bass sound and tempo to this version are excellent! Sadly people would prefer some Saturday night voting crap, with some sad ass saying their singing this song for a long lost dead relative compared to this! Thank you Level 42, you’re real musicians.
