  • I made an unexpected trip here yesterday because I sprained my ankles and I found out that the key pads are used to block off the cancer floors. I didn't break any of my bones and I'm still able to walk.

  • @elevatorgeek88 Which floors are that besides the 11th floor.

  • @escalatorgeek881 Just the 11th floor, they blocked off the 11th floor on the service elevators. A nurse who went on the elevator from the first floor had to type in a code for the 11th floor button to light up.

  • @elevatorgeek88 Interesting. Then what are the keypads in the public elevators for? Did they lock off 11 in the public elevators too?

  • @escalatorgeek881 I forgot to tell you this. When I went here about 3 or 4 weeks ago to visit my cousin I found out that they blocked off every floor above 2 with those keypads in the service elevators. The elevators are now programmed for up peak mode and sits on 2 with the doors open when it's not in use.

  • @elevatorgeek88 Are they going to do that with the public elevators?

  • @escalatorgeek881 I'm not sure but I think there's a possibility they might.

  • @escalatorgeek881 I'm not sure if they blocked off the 11th floor in the public elevators. I was on the service elevators because I was in a wheelchair and they rolled me up to the x ray room up on the 2nd floor. Funny thing is at palmetto health richland if you're going to get x rays done, you have to register as an patient on the first floor just like patients who are staying in the hospital. I'll check if I have a chance to go back to palmetto richland to do some retakes.
