@andrestnt shut the fuck up

@Dieselkrawler318 i've seen vids of some pretty impressive busa's running low 6's on the 1/4 mile so i wouldn't doubt it
-
@TheZohaun it would be insane. theorically there is a busa in vegas that does 250+
-
@Dieselkrawler318 oh i totally agree. i would give anything to get a car up to those speeds haha. could you imagine the adrenaline rush of a bike going that fast?
-
@TheZohaun there is the vw test track in germany. top gear put the veyron on it and got it up to top speed. and yeah, its a little ridiculous, but cool to know we can do it.
-
@InfernoX1994 the aero ssc is stable aerodynamically up to 270 mph according to nasa. i bet the veyron could go 268 mph on paper but there isn't a stretch of road long enough for them to get up to that speed and if they travel at top speed for 12 minutes they run out of gas. 15 minutes and the tires melt. so it's almost pointless haha
-
that seriously sounds like a V10. pretty badass
-
@TheZohaun the veyron's top speed is actually 268 mph. It sounds crazy, but it has actually been proven.
-
@racecardriver467 OK, understood.... except the 'Stupid Aemricans' thing.....

yeah the gtx1 is cool but it has more horse power than a regular gt 700 i think ford can claim anithing they want but weres the proof 240 is fine but 270 is just a ridiculous claim for the kind of car i think the question is why hasent ford produce this car yet?

For anyone curious, the car obviously will NOT do 260 mph, this was a screw-up when the press kit was created. They pulled the 'speed in gears' data from 6th gear theoretical which with final drive is something like 260. The car produces around 600 hp, you'd need a lot more than that to get to 260, especially with aerodynamics of a convertible.
