I learned a very very similar kata from Seikichi Toguchi´s student in Guatemala. Sekichi Toguchi was student of master Miyagi in Okinawa (okinawan Goju Ryu)
mabuni was never a student of uechi ryu, he was a collector of classical kata and tried to perserved as much as he could in his system, he did come to uechi kabuns dojo to observed and discuss kabuns style(uechi ryu(pangainoon) and after his short stay he decided to creat shinpa as a way to record and perserve some of the techniques of uechi ryu into his system tho he never formally studied the style. As shitoryu is known to include a lil bit of every okinawan style with over 50 katas-
I know a version of this kata, called Shin Pa Tan... Which translates to Short Mind
Waves, or "don't think to much". It is the same pretty much, but with longer stances, and a few more kakete wrist strikes at the end. It is a VERY nice kata... I may just post it.
