Hey, I'm looking into getting an eclectus parrot and I wanted to ask you if you would recommend this particular species as a family pet. I've always wanted an exotic bird and I read that these parrots are more easy going and don't get as stressed out as other species when left alone for long periods of time.

Hi
These birds love the attention, so if you plan to leave the bird for a few hours (work hours) you should invest on the biggest cage you can get. Buy heaps and heaps of different types of toys to keep them entertained. I've got two and they are right next to each other (separate cages). They dont like being left in the cage, whenever we are at home they are out as they would just constantly SCREAM and talk loud.
So Healthy diet, big cage & lots of toys. When you are at home plenty of play time

At the time he started dancing whenever he hears the music he likes, now he dances whenever there's music, when he knows you got a treat and he's excited, and also when you start dancing he copies you.

Thanks, he was about 2 years old then when that video was taken, so he's now 4 years old.

Ours only dances when he likes the music (he likes a lot of our music) plus when there's a special treat he wants to show off 1st.
