Errand Solutions - New Jersey Man Surprises Wife Of 60 Years From Hospital

Even after 60 years of marriage, Eugene "Gene" Salerno still aims to please his wife and put a smile on her face and Thursday morning, he did just that from the hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

The 82-year-old patient at Marlton Rehabilitation Hospital took advantage of Virtua Health Marlton's Patient Concierge Service, provided by Errand Solutions, to service to buy his wife, Marie, the perfect anniversary present, a diamond ring.

Gene has been hospitalized for sometime and knew he would not be able to go out and buy the ring himself. When he learned of the hospital's service, he took full advantage of the chance to surprise Marie, the love of his life.

When Gene handed Marie the diamond ring she was left speechless and grabbed his face to plant a big kiss.

"I told my wife when I was 13 when I first met her at a drug store. I said I am going to marry you," said Gene.

Gene's plan worked and with the happy couple's family, and a few friends from CBS 3, by their side, she slid the ring on her finger, just like they day they were engaged 60 years ago. Once again, it was a perfect fit.
