Almost the whole of this film tells us that everyone, EVERYONE, hates gay men. Hates them passionately, unreservedly. (Lesbians, however, are another story. The bank manager is a lesbian. And in this small town there appears to be a huge, luxurious lesbian club!) But gay men are universally detested: the lowest of the low - rejected, disowned, beaten up. The final FOUR minutes show something else, it's true - but this must be a fantasy, a dream, having no connection to anything else we've seen.

The movie let is all know if we love one another the world would be a better place. Just let people live their lives the way they want to. All the people don't hate gay people. Most of the government they still take their money. If we can spend their money they are entitle to their rights. It's nobody business what you do in your bedroom.
