False. "Doubt" is one of the best movies of 2008 and one of few movies that challenges the audience to view the movie with their own interpretation and leave the movie with question. I thought that this movie was incredibly made and every character was interesting to watch.

Oh stop arguing over whether she smokes or not! Who cares! If even if she does, that doesn't distract from the fact that she is an incredible actress, and just an all round amazing woman. You have got to love her. And if she doesn't get the oscar this year and it goes to Bullock I will be so, so pissed off. If she doesn't get it the Oscars will forever be in my book a farce, this year's BAFTAs were bad enough. Anyways sorry for the long rant but thats just my opinion!!

how is she overrated?.....that is like saying micheal jackson are lady gaga are overrated. Meryl Streep does each job with perfection, empathy, humility and grace...she cares abotu the work and litterally sacrifices herself for the characters..juxtapose all her movies you wont find the character in any of them...all those flim flabbes you named except for susan jodie michelle and sigourney have let there work be effected by fame...talented yes...better then meryl hah never..she is our Bette D.

I don't believe she is overrated. She is very talented. I am a theatre major myself and I know a great actor when I see one. But I do agree with you on the fact that there are other actors who are not praised enough.
