I just got one for free from my brother who is clearing out a warehouse a university. It's in nearly perfect condition. I'm trying to learn more about it.

I just purchased (at a Salvation Army store for only $2.99 "as is") a Panasonic Model No. RQ-413AS. I'm guessing it is a 1969 model. They built 'em to last back then! Plays great! There is a short in the speaker though, but no problem! I patched it through an external speaker via the monitor jack and cranked it up. Great sound for mono, and very retro, man!

The song is "Touch Me" by the Doors. I think it was released on the Elektra label back in 1969 or 1970.

Not a bad looking unit.

I agree. I notice that it records at a much better level than most of my other cassette recorders.

I bought this same recorder yesterday at a thrift store. Definitely of Panasonic origin, identical to model RQ-413AS but made for JC penney.
