  • Over 290 thousand people watched part 1 of mvt. II, but only 140 thousand of people watched part 2. Isn't it strange?

  • That chord at 5:04 just gets me everytime....so beautiful I'm speechless. I cannot believe that anyone would dislike this. This is the epitome of beauty and technical perfection while perhaps the best Evgeny Kissin and Rachmaninov.

  • @murasaki9 A person with a loving heart .... she was lucky to share her life with you and have it end held within the arms that cared so much for her.

  • This video is impossible to find!

"All by Myself" is a power ballad written and performed by Eric Carmen in 1975.

The verse is based on the second movement (Adagio Sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18. The chorus borrows from the song "Let's Pretend" that Carmen had written for the Raspberries in 1973.

One of the more notable cover versions of "All by Myself" was recorded by Céline Dion in 1996.

  • In the last few moments of my life, I would like to be surrounded by family, at peace, and listening to this music.

  • This is very difficult for me to listen to. It was playing when I was holding my dying cat the entire day when I had to put her down. I was alone and it was one of the most painful days of my life. I still cry when I hear this. But it's such a beautiful piece (all of it). And yes, parts of it were made into All By Myself but that song, while popular pales to nothing in comparison to this haunting and lilting lovely piece. If you're young consider: classical music has shaped much modern music.

  • Around 4:45, does anyone else think it sounds like the song All By Myself by Celine Dion?

  • Cried at 5:04 and after. Just cannot stop the tears coming as the music already helped setup that emotion.

  • I saw the ASO with Horatio Guttierrez play this a month ago and was the most beautiful gorgeous piece of music I have ever heard. (and still can't stopthinking about it) I love this piece. Kissin is excellent.

  • @JannyJah Almost?????? My keyboard is soaked!!!
