What an ending! Love banished the evil darkness and created Belle's (and Disney's) perfect mate: a rich, handsome, white male. Belle fell in love with THE BEAST, not Prince Charming. She was HAPPY to be with a grotesque monster. That was the point of the film -- love overcoming ugly. But Disney HAD to make him a white rich male. The message being, of course, that rich white males are BETTER than BEASTS. Yet the point of the movie was that one's appearance shouldn't matter. Why, Disney? Why?

The big swell in the music at the end made me cry. This is a really truly beautiful fairytale. I love it so much. I remember having the bed set and the book and some of the toys. I was all about this movie when I was little. Such a beautiful story. A happy ending. Awwwwww.

Does anyone get chills at the very end of this? Seriously, it's the combination of the full choir singing the theme, those lyrics and then when the horns pipe in and it turns into a stained glass picture of them....this just seems like the most timeless and classy ending to any Disney Film. Simple but profound.
