what transmission are you using?

Is that the old 4 speed?

No, 83 is actually the first year they put a T5 in the mustang.  So it's a 5 speed.

In 83 you could have gotten the 5-speed or 4-speed, just depended on how lucky you were.

oh, ya, thats right I believe they used four speeds for the first few months of production. I forgot about that. It doesn't have any serious mods, just the common ones, mild cam, shorty headers, 2 1/2" off road h pipe, and flowmasters. Some day i'd like to nuild a serious motor for it.

Why would you put a 305 in a car with an already good motor stock???? It sure sounds just like an 302H.O

you bet...it is pure ford 302 with flowmaster two chamber exhaust.  Nothing quite sounds as good

i had the fully loade HO, t-tops,suspension package, svo rims, black with charcoal interior, my was built at beginning of 83 so it had 4 speed, they changed to 5 speed later in year (the mustang and camaro had been goin at it to be chosen for state patrol cars),car was fast, had it about two weeks, wife stalled it one night and got rearended at 45mph, mustang didnt survive...that was 20 years ago and i miss that car

I used to have an '84 5.0 conv. I loved that car, I wish i still had it, but now I'm looking into getting an '83 5.0 conv, almost identical (same color even) but it has more factory options.

Half of the mods you have on yours I have sitting in my garage, just waiting for a stang to put them on.
