  • What a beautifully filmed mini doco - and drawing on an interesting and knowledgeable narrator makes such a difference

  • when you see the queen's old english mastiffs you're looking at good stock i guess - they seem much more slender, sinewy with high shoulders, broad back but they are much more slender and look so handsome and healthy - that's as close as we can see to the origins i think - the dog de bourdeux makes me laugh, all french dogs make me laugh - no use crying you have to laugh...sad though really! wonder how much one'd pay for an old english mastiff with same stock as royal's?

  • i doubt very much that any of the current mastiffs however are any match for the old dog types - they weren't 'bred' as they are today - today they have been bred down - they have hip problems and arthritis etc etc such a shame a very sad indeed! a slender sinewy type dog full of necessary muscle not big-boned, fat, crippled things you see today... what use are they in a hunt or for anything for that matter... it's like comparing a sprinter with a body builder or obese person - way off the mark!

  • @ASIANBOYZPRODUCTION think that is bad then you should check out the american kennel clubs - barbaric mate - they're 20 times worse than uk kennel club but i agree whole -heartedly - mankind is sick mate - really sick, we have lost all that is real! peace mate

  • Great video

  • what a breed to have at ones mid life crises ,lol.loving as a lab and big as a horse .it looks like a lion and feels like an angel.i will have one from england soon.i live in pakistan and have a five year old lab,got him when he was 2 months.he is from russia, black, pure lab.my best friend.

  • My Molly is 7 months and a part of my family. She sleeps in my bed and snores, she drools and burps after she eats, and she hogs the couch but I love her and would not change a thing about her.

  • I have two mastiffs and they are THE BEST dogs I've EVER owned. They sleep in the bed with my wife and I ( we bought a second bed and pushed both together:) )

  • I want a mastiff one day.

  • what they are saying is true, 19th century era started to admire only the appearance of the dog but not the quality and health. This is the reason I hate the Kennel Club.
