Part of the main chain of quests, a simple dungeon crawl, this time to find and kill a were-creature who turns out to be Cyndassa's brother.
On a side note, I'm not 100% sure what happened at 4:10. I assume it was either a bunch of archers, or one archer with some crazy rapid fire, but I just didn't see any humanoids around.

  • The blood spatter in your vid seems more bloody and gory than in my game, have you tweaked or installed anything? Nice vid by the way!

  • No, I'm just using a regular install of the game, but with the super2xsai scaler that comes with DOSBox. I can PM you some optimized DOSBox setings that I found, if you want. =P Also, oddly enough, I reinstalled the game on a different computer, and a different quest sent me once again to The Fortress of Gaersmith. It had the exact same layout, with the same damaging stairs. I was under the impression that the dungeons were randomly generated, but apparently this one isn't.

  • fall damage at 4:10? they seem to be coming from each stair. weird i know, but that's what it syncs with easily, despite being so short a fall.

  • Yeah, that's what I was thinking, that or a weirdly placed trap floor.

  • @AnObeseAardvark Good to know. :)

  • @Cheatmaster43 I know this was a super old argument, but I went over that place in a dungeon with the same layout, and it IS an arrow trap. It would kill me every time, but when I levitated my squishy mage ass over the top of the stairs, I was golden.

  • Damn, at 7:44 or 7:46, that waS when the Elder Scrolls used to be erotic!!!

  • @Cheatmaster43 Dungeons were randomly generated ONCE. It means every dungeon has the same layout for EVERY GAME and for EVERYBODY on this planet.

  • looks like the archer noise at 4:10 was just the strange fall dam. from he stairs

  • Feel free to PM me, I am a grown up and not too proud! :)

The dungeons aren't random. They are procedurally generated by a master program at Bethesda and then some original dungeons were made for the main quest and then that data went into the master. So although the game was randomly generated by Bethesda, a named town or dungeon will always be in the same place in your game and in mine.

  • What I love about Daggerfall, is the world is so rich and detailed, and has so little handholding, that we can have a polite debate about whether the stair thing was a bug or a trap. In DF I always say, if it's a one off, that it's a feature, in this case a trap of some sort. Bear in mind, you can get diseased without the game really telling you and some quests end up quite weird and yet still fit in the world!
