  • I got a new job today. My dream job, actually. THIS SONG is what popped into my head when the HR lady said: "Can you start next monday?"

Been listening to it non-stop ever since :)

  • @WinterSoilder Hah. Nice job, and good luck to you and your job! Hope the remix Richard Chycki did also helped you enjoy this song as much. He's also remixing 'Vapor Trails' in it's entirety. So keep a sharp-eye out on that! And for me, something special doesn't even need to happen, just the sheer energy of this song can have me listening to it non-stop!

  • This re-mix my Rich is just so awesome. I hope he re-mixes the entire Vapor Trail album for the 10th anniversary next year.

  • @WestwardOneOH Rush confirmed earlier this year, in Feb. I believe, that Chycki would be remixing the entire album. The one I'm anticipating to hear remixed is 'Freeze', geeze, that has to be the easiest - most noise/static ridden track on the entire album.

  • @DOMECHOPBRAINS Actually after reading up, the "raw" sound came about more or less due to the band not being able to find a sound they liked due to considered poor recordings and poor production methods/underproduction as admitted by the band. Mastering made it worse, for some reason Rush has followed the "loudness war", and the over-compression was partly due to the peaks they had wanted to reach.

  • @BaanuRass if you couldn't hear the bass in the original you need your ears checked. Also, the original isn't bad, it's just not clean enough for most people. That "raw" sound is PROBABLY what they were going for since they released it that way.

  • @SgtZaqq I like it. Less bass and more mid range in the EQ makes it way easier to hear every little note Geddy plays.

  • Vapor Trails was the first Rush album I'd ever heard (8 years ago now, holy cow!). It's still one of my favorites to this day. Being a bassist I was absolutely floored by Geddy's approach to playing in a rock group. I'd never heard a rock bassist sound so heavy, energetic, and really digging into those power chords the way he did on this album. Boosting Geddy's mid range really does wonders, I can't wait to hear what Chycki does with Ceiling Unlimited and the rest of the album for that matter.

  • Don't like bass in this remix very much... Sounds really overdriven.
