Barrett's Privateers

Stan Rogers's classic sea shanty, "Barrett's Privateers," performed by Jesse Ferguson, the Bard of Cornwall. My version owes much to (of course) Rogers's version, but also that of a Montreal-based band, Salty Dog. Rogers, I'd say, is by far Canada's greatest folk-song writer.

Wow, man! I really loved your first upload of this, and when I saw you re-upped it I honestly didn't expect that much of an improvement, I didn't think there was much room to improve. But your voice is so much richer in this performance, and it really adds to the somber tone of the song. You definitely have a masterful understanding of folk music vocals

Great job man! I have been listening to you for a few years now, and I usually use your versions to discover new forms of Irish music. Most of the times your versions are very good and do the originals a great justice. I also think the new drum (well I don't know how "new" it is) sounds a lot better than the older one.
