Tommy Tate was one of my favorite singers. I attended Lanier and he performed many times. I followed his singing career when he signed up with Sun Records. He got a raw deal and the nightmare of signing with the wrong label taught us all a lesson. Be sure to ck out Tommy's "For a Dollar Bill (people will do anything)". Tommy didn't let Sun Records get him down, he writes songs for many other artists. My friends and I still love Tommy Tate!

Tommy Tate attended Jim Hill High School in Jackson, MS. I attended Lanier. Tommy would perform at our talent shows. My girlfriends, Quinstella and Beverly and I, would make sure we were on the front row. We'd scream our heads off. We LOVED Tommy Tate. :)
