Open Up the Sky - Cover [keyboard + vocals]

A friend told me about this song a while back...and after listening to it quite a few times, I decided to record a cover of it (stuck inside on a beautiful day...gotta make the most of it, no?)

Two things stand out most for me in the song...first is "Earthly things don't matter, they just fade and shatter". It's so straight, to the point, and so well put :)

The second thing is the chorus..."We don't want blessings, we want You." I mean, how many times have we prayed and asked God simply for blessings, neglecting all that He has already blessed us with, and more importantly, neglecting His presence? An encounter with Christ, the experience of being overwhelmed by His love and His presence are the greatest "blessings" we could ever ask for. Seek not the blessings, but for the One who blesses because all good things come from the Lord. And with Easter around the corner once again, let's think about what the cross really means to us, and what a blessing it is to be worth the greatest price - the death of Christ out of Calvary Love.
