no no....Mr Akrapović was explaining (a while ago) how much money do you have to pay to team to give even your logo (sticker) on bike. Few years ago, he said than he won't come to MotoGP class (becouse of money thing), since he was in Superbike class for a while now. But, he did. :-)

    cheers

  • @samborac46 of course but i don't think Honda doesn't have the money to change some exhausts :D

  • bike looks lush tho :O)

  • In the past, the off-the shelf race exhaust systems for the general public that might have come from leading exhaust companies might have had no relationship to what their race team used. We know of one well know race team / pipe manufacturer who hand built all their own race team bike exhausts in the shop on the dyno, but these pipes were just too labor intensive and expensive to sell.

  • In the past Production pipes they sold to the public were prototyped at an outside supplier tube bending company using new, un-run bikes they borrowed form dealers, and made to fit and manufacture the easiest and most cost effective way. These "Off the Shelf" pipes made more noise than stock, but usually with a loss of power compared the stock OEM exhaust.

  • But at some point in time you can expect one team/exhaust manufacturer to buy and compare another leading brand race pipe to what they are using, and even copy it if it works better. Particularly since one pipe manufacturer might not otherwise get the chance to dyno and test another team's race bike and build a better performing exhaust to suit it.

  • Yes, the brand/type of exhaust on factory race bikes is all about the marketing relationship with the exhaust company. As some motorcycle companies may sell that brand of aftermarket exhaust through their Accessory Parts Division, or they may be OEM supplier on some bike models, to something just as simple as the exhaust company provides the pipes to the team for free.
