Over 2000 ponds since 1982 & I've never used a rubber liners, however I've replaced dozens of leaky liners from gnawing rodents, tree roots etc. Plus it's a bad idea using energy sucking submersible pumps instead of centrifugal energy efficient pumps. In addition submersible pumps are continually clogging with debris. Never add loose gravel to the bottom- debris collects in them and it becomes a maintenance nightmare! Use concrete & rebar construction- costs only 20% more! designaponddotcom

Hi! How do you prevent dirt to enter the pond when it rains or by some reason water flows from the edges? I mean how do you design the pond edges in order to minimize this event. Thanks.

What happens when it rains heavily? How do they control the overflow of water?
