10 minutes of the surf at TopSail Island

This is a shot I took from the deck of our beach house at Topsail Island, NC in June 2008. You can hear the girls in the background.

Just wanted to have that visual to take home with me to Ohio. Somehow the beaches in Ohio just lack that certain something.

I forgot to bring my camera tripod so I made a make-shift prop out of an upside-down grill grate.

Topsail is known for having a lot of sharks and shark attacks. A lot of sharks breed just off shore because of the water temperature, current, and shape of the coastal shelf.

We didn't see any sharks this year, but there was a dead man-o-war washed up on shore almost every morning.

@rebel9568 umm , i wasnt trying to be mean . so sorry if you thought i was . but ive been going to topsail too all my life , my dad went there all his life , and so did his dad . and the water does get really clear when i go . and yes , there are usually always sting rays when i go , i think this summer was the only summer when i didnt see any . you can ask my whole entire family if you met us .. and at least my comment was nice , you dont have to be so rude . and im not a dude , thankyou .

some days, the water is like, really really clear and you can see the bottom when youre in 10 deep water... i love topsail(: every time i go, sting rays swim with me, it sounds dangerous but its not, they are actually reallyy nice and i pet them and stuff.... my family has been going here for like, forever !! topsail is the best next to the outer banks !!(:
