Me and my friend with a camera and a whole load of cash, spreading the Christmas cheer on the streets of Harrogate. Inspired by the greatly superior Christmas giveaways of MrChiCity3.

So how come you had a spare £200 just lying around to be given away?
I've been at uni for ten weeks and that money was what went unspent out of the money my dad sent me to buy food and stuff. When I got home for Christmas, I offered it back to him but he refused. I felt guilty having got hold of £200 for nothing, so I decided I'd give it away. I'd seen a few videos like this before (MrChiCity3 did some very popular ones, for example) and figured I'd try my hand at it.
Why did you give a card to (x person)? Looks like they didn't need it.
Yeah, unfortunately (or fortunately, really), I don't live particularly close to a notably deprived area. Of course, there are people in every town and city in the world who are hard done by, but yeah, Harrogate isn't exactly a "poor" place. We did our best to give a card to anyone who was clearly in need (the guys selling the books, and the foreign guy near the end, for example) and a few buskers too. We gave the last card, which contained twenty pounds, to a Cancer Research charity shop. If I'm fortunate enough to be in this position next year as well, I'll probably plan things earlier and make sure we go into every charity shop in the area. Either that or I'll just donate the money straight to a charity online. However...
Why did you hand it out on the street and film it when you could have just anonymously donated to a more worthy cause?
This wasn't entirely about helping those in need. If we did manage to aid someone, even just one person, then it was all worth it but the real purpose of this thing was thus; everyone card contained a message advising them to pass on the good will. Again, even if just one person did so, it was all worthwhile. Similarly, I put this thing online in the hope of inspiring some of the viewers to do something nice for Christmas. I'm not insisting that everyone should go out and give away free money to people, but just going out of your way to do someone a favour or donating a small amount to a charity is all it takes. Most of my subscribers are Yognauts so, if you haven't already, you could perhaps go to http://www.justgiving.com/yogscast and donate a goat to a third world family.
Can I have some free money?
Sorry, pal, but it's all gone. Maybe get yourself to Harrogate this time next year, yeah? ;)
Why is only one of the people anonymised?
Everyone who we filmed was asked if they were happy for us to put the footage online, either before we started rolling or just as we left. A couple of people said they didn't want to be in the video at all but that one guy said he was happy to be in it if we covered up his eyes.

This is really kind of you but why would you give it to persons that look rich ... give it to the poor instead

@Webmax96 Check the description. There literally weren't enough "poor" people around. On top of that, nobody wanted to take them from us because they thought it was a prank, so it got to the point that we were just handing them out to whoever would take one.

Too bad you didn't pick people more carefully. I mean picking someone who acually needs those money. But still, it was nice of you. Merry christmas man.

@TheHolyPwnge I know exactly what you mean but it very rapidly got to the point where we just gave them to anyone who would take them, or else we'd have been there all night. One of the ones we didn't manage to record was a Cancer Research charity shop, so we were a lot happier with that.
