This is my finished LB (lunch box) version of the Imhotep Lite. It now uses a John Bedini solid state capacitor pulse charging circuit. A Bedini Fan is shown running as a separate unit attached to the LB through the drive and charging ports.
wicked work! would you ever consider making the circuit + schematics public -- would people who are pretty much scared of charging batteries at all, be able to build that without it exploding in their faces?:)
The work on this project is compliled at the Energetic Forum. The thread there on this topic is over 21 pages long. People from around the globe are working on this. My version of the Lite is just one of several posted at the site. You can make this as simple version or more complex one like mine. They all work. They produce usable light while they charge another battery at the same tme.
The batteries in this thing are charged up delicately. Everything is less than 1 amp. The charging on the back end of the circuit is cold charging coming off the BEMF of the coil. Not much danger of an explosion. High voltage coming off the ignition coil, however, will give you a wake up call if you are not careful. Nothing to be alarmed about except that your hair stands straight up for a few days.LOL *-*!!!
thanks for the description! i hope one day one of these can be upscaled to be able to charge enough batteries so i can run a 19.5V DC adapter (=power up my laptop)
