@atchisrj1 It's shrinking so slowly it's growing.

If they want to cut the defense budget, they ought to focus on cutting the bureaucracies. I've been trying to get into the Army and I've been getting screwed over by the defense bureaucracies when trying to get medical waivers approved. I now have to get a congressman to help me just because they want to cut enlistments instead of bureaucrats.
Stopping all this new high-tech BS that's just asking to get hacked or sabotaged by North Korea or mainland China would also help.

I would think that just making Europeans, S. Korea, and Japan pay for their own defense would save us quite a bit on military spending without compromising our ability to defend ourselves now and encourage development of new systems and weapons to do so in the future.

@viletree Incorrect. Most of us in the tea party movement are primarily concerned about the debt and as for corporation the the thing that began the movement was an almost universal rage we felt over the wall street bailout in 2008(T.A.R.P). It was that bipartisan scandel which triggered the movement. We have our differences in the movement composing as we do everything from social conservatives to libertarians,but we are hardly corporate shills.

It's ironical that our debt and economic crisis may actually help end the warfare/welfare state.
-
The Tea party had nothing to do with the debt ceiling debate, these retards have everything to do with shilling for massive corporations though.

The whole government is useless, as is voting. Fuck the Republic.

I thought Goldwater was a uber hawk for a time. I am aware he toned it down later in life.

Yes, but Roosevelt broke international neutrality law by supplying arms to Britain and conducting offensive naval ops . This was seen as an initiation of war against Germany.
Germany wanted to avoid war against America (and Britain), altogether, so Roosevelt and his pro-Marxist banking cabal had to deceive the American population into thinking that Germany was the aggressor.
Here's a nice online article which explains it. Just google: "Franklin Roosevelt's 'Secret Map' speech"
I like "defence spending", its the all of the "offence spending" that pisses me off.
