Together for the very first time, two guitars and one great song, the Santana classic: "Evil Ways" performed by Lytle Rieffer and new friend Steve Johnson (yes, that's Eric Johnson's dad).

"Evil Ways" is a song by Santana from their 1969 album Santana. It's about a girl who is spiteful. "You've got to change your evil ways, baby/Before I stop lovin' you." She makes her boyfriend jealous by hanging out with her friends. "You hangin' 'round, baby/With Jean and Joan and-a who-knows-who." She is constantly letting him down. The middle section includes a Hammond organ solo played by Gregg Rolie (who also performs the lead vocals) while the double-time coda includes a 90-second guitar solo performed by Carlos Santana. Some organs accompany his guitar until it fades out. Released as a single in early 1970, it became the band's first top forty and top ten hit in the U.S. peaking at number nine on the Billboard Pop Singles chart.

The song is was written by Sonny Henry and recorded earlier by Willie Bobo.

Evil Ways lyrics? Come on, everyone sing:

You've got to change your evil ways... baby
Before I stop loving you.
You've go to change... baby
And every word that I say, it's true.
You've got me running and hiding
All over town.
You've got me sneaking and peeping
And running you down
This can't go on...
Lord knows you got to change... baby.

When I come home... baby
My house is dark and my pots are cold
You're hanging eround... baby
With Jean and Joan and a who knows who
I'm getting tired of waiting and fooling around
I'll find somebody, who won't make me feel like a clown
This can't go on...
Lord knows you got to change
