I was thinking about getting a dog, when I do get it when should I start to train it? If I started like 3 days after would they feel uncomfortable? or forced?

You'll have to assess the situation once you get the dog in your home and see how he/she is feeling after a few days. Some dogs will be comfortable right away and ready to train, others will need a little bit more time. Let us know if you do get one!

The goal isn't simply to keep him away from this piece of food in this moment right now. There are several goals - build his confidence, encourage him to use his mind and develop SELF control so that less kicking would be necessary. Also to teach him right from wrong: obeying commands is good, ignoring them is not good. Stealing food is not good, leaving it is better in the long run. Also, I have to say I find your comment ignorant and abusive, I don't care if it was meant as a joke.

All arguments aside. To answer a simple question. She uses so many treats to get so many repetitions. Even Cesar says its all repetition. with 50 treats, 50 reps. 1 treat and claiming it for 30 min is still only 1 rep. I love Cesar, his show got me into dog training. I used to use the collars, and dominance and the whole bit. When I learned positive techniques, and went to clicker expo it changed my whole approach. Never again will I ever try to use punishment to TEACH any dog anything.

Sure Ceasar is great - however this works better and you don't even have to abuse your dog. So win win - unless ofcourse you like to "bite" your dog with your hands or kick it.
