When you think about how HIV is actually transmitted, common sense would dictate that it doesn't matter if you have a foreskin or not, so circumcision will do nothing to prevent HIV other than putting men in a false sense of security and indulging in risky behavior as a result. It doesn't take a genius or any study to come to this conclusion.

Dry sex practices also tend to damage condoms when they are used by those who practice dry sex which happens to most prevalent in African countries and a few others. Given that when a couple has dry various herbs, debris and chemicals are inserted into the vagina & the mucosal tissues found in the vagina &on the penis are subject to abrasion and tearing and this translates into a much higher probablity of HIV/STD transfer & a condom is not going to do much to prevent the transmission.

Dry sex practices involve the use of various chemicals and herbs to dry up the vagina and make it more tight during intercourse. Given that all of this foriegn debris in the vagina increases friction and has a mild abrasive effect, it is plain to see that the vaginal canal is very likely to be traumatised, scratched, and irritated as well as the foreskin torn and the glans rubbed raw in places. The increased friction and lack of lubrication increases lesions, tears and fissures in both M & F

Any study on male circumcision and AIDS/STD transmission in Africa should be held suspect. In sub-sahran countries, Haiti, Domincan Republic and other countries. "Dry sex practices appear to be primarily restricted to certain predominately non-male circumcising regions of eastern and southern Africa, including many of the countries reporting the world’s highest HIV seroprevalence (for example, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia,
Malawi). Lancet 1999

Wow.
American Evangelicals have totally raped this country. They helped encourage genital mutilation AND the recent law making homosexuality punishable by the death penalty.

thats why a Ugandan man recently raped a swedish girlthis happened in Hisingen.i blame it on Circumsision

Condoms prevent AIDS, Circumcision does not! In fact sexual pleasure is pretty much the only thing circumcision is effective at reducing.

Circumcising yourself.. helps fight HIV... they are getting pretty desperate with ideas.
The model for fighting HIV/AIDS is Cambodia and Thailand, where 100% compliance for condom use by sex workers was strictly enforced. Their rates of HIV transmission fell drastically.
Something stinks about these African circumcision/HIV trials. They only seem to show an effect when long-time circumcision justifiers are runnging the studies. Most of the US men who have died of AIDS were circumcised at birth.
Foreskin feels REALLY good. HIS body, HIS decision.

Condoms are WAY cheaper, and close to 100% effective. Additionally... condoms don't destroy your sensitivity, so when you settle down in a monogamous (or married) relationship, you can have all the wonderful feelings, instead of being left with a stump.
For the cost of a mutilation (circumcision), he can get a LIFETIME of condoms for him and everyone in his family!
