More than 750 of the region's business and civic leaders celebrated GBC's vision, leadership and accomplishment at its Annual Meeting on May 18 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore.

GBC Chairman Charles O. Monk II discussed "game changing" initiatives to enhance the competitive strength of Baltimore and Maryland, including reinvigorating the Inner Harbor, Maglev development, converting Baltimore's existing public parks, revitalizing Baltimore's East Side Gateway, and upgrading the Baltimore Arena and Baltimore Convention Center.


GBC President & CEO Donald C. Fry reviewed progress on the GBC's current strategic priorities, which include developing a regional transportation system; nurturing bioscience, life science and technology industry growth; strengthening minority and women-owned businesses in the region; preparing for growth from base realignment and closure (BRAC) and other economic development; and strengthening education resources in the region, to name a few.
