March 2003, The Road Trip of the Millennium
Four of us (Eric Falk, Keith Cook, Caleb McMillen, and I (John Borrow)) set out from Nashville, TN to Breckenridge, CO to spend a week snowboarding.
On the road trip, as we would pass significant milestones, we would play appropriate songs to mark the occasion. For example, when we crossed the Mississippi river, we played "Black Water" by the Doobie Brothers, when we crossed the Kansas state line, "Carry on my wayward son" magically came on the radio.
In this video clip, we are mere seconds from crossing over from Kansas into colorful Colorado. As we cross the line, "Take me home, country roads" by John Denver came on the radio. (Of course we're aware that the state mentioned in the song is indeed West Virginia and not Colorado, but since the song is sung by John DENVER, we felt justified in playing this tune. Anyway, "Take me home.." is way more catchy than "Rocky Mountain High" in my humble opinion.)
Sadly, on Feb 2, 2007 Eric was killed in an automobile accident on his way to a missions conference in TX. The reason I've posted this video is so all of his friends can watch it and remember what a great guy he was.
In the video, Eric is doing most of the singing, Keith is behind him, Caleb is behind me, and I'm driving.
Enjoy
Shouldn't you be singing Rocky Mountain High, lol?
