  • @sol2soul77 You know, typing in caps doesn't make you louder, it just makes you look like an ass.

  • @sol2soul77 He does not say there is no god, he says that he lacks a belief in one. This is a huge distinction & to just let it be as some minor insignificant point is rather deceitful on your part. The definition you try to assign to him & other atheists like myself, paints us in a light that we arrogantly claim to KNOW there is no god. We do not make such claims. We simply point out that theists do not provide sufficient evidence for a creator god, let alone one who cares about human affairs.

  • @ERROLCUSTERFLYNN4EVR Threatening people, especially with an imaginary hell to spread the irrationality in your belief. You must be so proud of yourself.

  • It's quite the question and while not being for any wars I wonder if any such are just. Going back through history you can pick or choose with more ease now but at the time it is a very difficult question. Should the US have interceded earlier in WW1? When asked of my grandfather who was a Marine in the 13th reg 5th brigade he said there was a strong anti-war movement before entering.Such could be said of WW2 before Pearl Harbor but would sooner intervention been better?i don't know the answer.

  • @yoseph89 I think he's pointing more to the "silver lining" of the whole ordeal more than the initial catalysts for going to war. He's not necessarily supporting the rape and plunder of a country and it's people, nor is he condoning the reasons for those actions having been taken.

He's simply stating that, had none of that occured, Saddam would still be in charge, the Taliban would still be a strong and malicious force, etc.

    It's a "break a few eggs" situation.

  • I think it would have yes

  • that was a pretty stupid and narrow minded thing to say from such a smart guy.

  • @Em183 he justifies the wars in iraq and afghanistan for different reasons than the people who went in.

  • If he were still alive I would dare any of you to take him on in a debate against the past use of US military force.

  • @yoseph89 Because he is a smug and aggressive fool.

  • He seems to be confusing two different Iraqi wars. Deposing a national leader like Saddam Hussein, over unfounded claims nonetheless, is much different from stopping one country from taking over its neighbor.

  • oh to hell with it I still miss him regardless. He was so intelligent, witty articulate.

I'm not for any wars though. Sometimes its necessary but Iraq was set up by lies.
