This is Alvin and The Chipmunks' cover of the classic 'Til I Die by the Beach Boys from their Surf's Up album. Deemed "too dark" and "unreleasable" by their dictatorial manager, Dave Seville, this recording was lost and presumed destroyed... until now.

Chipmunks made this cover their own thanks to Simon's ingenious arrangements. This could've been a change of direction for the Chipmunks. Simon was really cranking out complex melodies during their prime. However, Alvin detested to this 'cause he want them to do only pop-friendly covers. What I heard is that Simon went depressively insane afterwards.
