  • Peggy's gifts are subtle. She doesn't jump out at you. There's a wistfulness in her singing that no other seems to match. And she has an air of grace about her. I too am a 'solitude' type person. I heard "Is That All There Is" last night and it brought me to tears. I just read "Fever", her biography, so I'm still getting to know her. She had a style all her own.

  • @cdadave83814 Good to hear from you again Dave . It's good to have your comments , and I'm chuffed that you're still enjoying my uploads ! I'm always pleased to meet a fellow fan of Peggys' too . Best Wishes , Gareth.

  • Diversity of thought. How incredible we are as creatures. I think we all shape our musical tastes based on our experiences in life. I'm a very solitude person who likes his aloneness, I tend to be introspective and people like Olivor, and Piaf, Garland, and Snow with hand gestures, pain in their faces, emotion in their voices who feel what they are singing intrigue me. They force me to think about what they are saying. It's not just music to me, it's listening to a singers heart.

  • Ahhh ...I see where your taste lies ! Yes I understand . I seek the same as you , but I find the quiet , suggestive style hits me harder ( as it does in films and books , too) ....whereas I guess it can't work so well for you . It's good that we all have different tastes , eh? Thanks for your comments , Playio. It's good meeting you.

  • I think it's just wonderful when people can agree to dis-agree and remain respectful. some of the hostile comments I read on here from time to time disturb me. Thank you for being so gracious. By the way, if you get a chance to listen to Phobe Snow singing "Teach me tonight" please do so and let me know what you think.

  • LOL! I quite agree . It's just appalling reading some of the vile stuff thats written ...and I don't think its just kids that do it . Thanks for the tip about Phoebe Snow . I'll check her out .

  • You know how I can instantly tell if a tune's good or not? It makes me shiver. And Peggy does that here.

  • An artist for 59 years. Who can match her, really.

The new generation doesn't get the.....time.

  • Did Neil Sedaka write this?

  • Peggy Lee was sensational in these bitter-sweet melodies, her presence is remembered long after the video has finished.
