Heres my Drum Cover of the first 4 minutes of Cygnus...Vismund Cygnus (blablabla) by The Mars Volta. I heard this song and was absolutely flashed by its quite tricky groove...so i had to cover it;)
It's also the first time i used my new recording equipment (shure and the t.bone mics and a Presonus Firestudio Project as an interface)
aswell as my new paiste Alpha 14" Metal Edge Hi-Hat which i really dig!!!
Sorry for any mistakes und unprecise playing...it had to be done quite fast.
Feel free to comment and have fun watching!!!

  • Hi man, I greeting you from Chile...I have a question for you, what is the cymbal you have and use in this song? is up the ride! Cheers and congratulations!!

  • @diegolazo100 read the other comments...its a paiste 302 hi hat top with a totally ripped splash beneath it!!!

  • Gaaaah left handed drumming creeps me out. But my god was this good. I gotta ask three things:

That little 302 that you've crafted into a trash, did that used to be the hat or the splash?

    I also have that klub...

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO A BEAUTIFUL KLUB

HOW DID YOU DO THAT TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL KLUB

  • @Poowis thank you;) i'd call that constructive criticism!

    1. the little 302 used to be a top hat. you can see in my older videos that once it has been unspoiled but slowly got more and more such cuts...it's because it was cracking all over the place so i bought a new hihat and now i use the old one as a stack. i "stacked" a totally ripped splash beneath it.

    2. same thing with the "klub" which by the way is a compressor crash...cracking and cracking..seems to be a common weakness of the..

  • @theoneandonlyMoPS ..generation x series since i have now, in 4 months consumed 4 14" filter chinas all getting crackles in these holes after a while..

    3. I used a metal shears (if this is the right word) to cut the cracks out..a little filing and sanding and the job is done. way better method than drilling or stuff like that.

    Hope that answered your questions;)

  • why is the song pitch-shifted down homie?!

  • @Theguitarmansam I'll give you a hint: "copyright" =)
