Mike Figgis brings his visionary directorial style to opera for the first time in this unique staging of one of Donizetti's most profound masterpieces. ENO presents Lucrezia Borgia, running at the London Coliseum 31 Jan - 3 Mar 2011.
Claire Rutter, star of ENO's Zandra Rhodes-designed Aida, returns as Renaissance Italy's darkest femme fatale, with rising young American tenor Michael Fabiano as Lucrezia's long-lost son. ENO's Olivier Award-winning former Music Director, Paul Daniel, conducts.

yo schmup53: this production is not about Donizetti or his music or great singing: it's about the ENO's catastrophic choice of the egomaniacal Figgis to "open up" an operatic masterpiece for the unwashed masses by showing them porn movies. And the English translation has been ridiculed by reviewers, so don't be expecting the ENO to advertise it.

I don't get this. I don't hear any singing and wouldn't that be nice, especially since it's in English?
