I'm answering a post from LGM piano forum from a member looking to learn this song. I break it down by lyric, note, chords and chord progressions.

  • Sam--beautiful, beautiful!! You have explained it so well.

I like what you said about all the fills and fancy embellishments and how you do NOT play that extensive with the choir. That is the statement of a mature and secure musician: You don't feel a need to "show out" and distract from the ministry of the lyrics the choir is delivering. Many musicians (MOST) need to really grasp that philosphy. You are secure in your gifts.

    Love you today and always!

    Your old friend,

    Lisa

  • Sam will you do a video lesson on Al Green song jesus will fix it.

  • You sound really good as usual. I like that run you did in C# at 9:33, its simple, but it adds so much to the song. I Got the basics down, I would appreciate if you break down some of the extra stuff.

    God Bless!!!

  • This is AWESOME!!

  • You're the only gospel player that loves to teach in Cmajor, I love it!!

  • It's always a good idea to learn chords on the left hand first. It makes your sound more full. I really wish I would have learned that way.
