i looked into this further, turns out the song was co-written by Christopher Williams, Matthew, and Katie Herzig.

Does no one else hear the distinct likeness to "You've got a friend in me" in the piano, especially in the chorus. haha All I hear is "You can let it go or hold it tight, YEAH YOU GOT A FRIEND IN ME."
