The Story of Stuff http://www.storyofstuff.com will take you on a provocative tour of our consumer-driven culture — from resource extraction to iPod incineration — exposing the real costs of our use-it and lose-it approach to stuff.

The movie is just the beginning of the story. Watch it, learn more and get involved here: www.StoryofStuff.com

  • I can't believe the comments of all these stupid brainwashed Americans!

After seeing the whole program I was curious to read from people whose eyes had been opened. How naive of me!!

Just as religious people will not be persuaded by hard facts and science, brainwashed-to-consume people will not be convinced by reason.

It'll take generations to turn back the tide.

  • Honestly, this makes me cry!

  • @SevenFootPelican well now this happens through the internet on our computers and phones. I totally believe the 3000 ads in that regard.

  • @jennNjackNY I'm going to assume that some of this is containers and packaging and food gone bad or not wanted and not mostly the actual things.

  • I believe you but would still like to see sources cited that show that we throw away 99% of stuff within 6 months on average.

  • @untropezon go live in iraq then

  • 67 dislikers threw out at least 3 of their old iPhones for new ones in the past 3 years.

  • TIME magazine initiated the "Go shopping" distortion and perpetuated it.

Please be sure to check the reliable primary sources which are easy enough to find with a quick search.

  • @dmackintx According to Time magazine, GW Bush states "I ask you to live your lives and hug your children... I ask your continued participation and confidence in the American economy"

Fact checking RELIABLE sources takes wisdom.

  • I agree with this video, but 3000 ads a day? That seems like a bit of a stretch. Maybe if you only sat in front of a TV all day, lol.

  • @BlueMonkey154 Bush made a public announcement after 9/11 telling citizens to shop. I guess you where to young to remember that.

  • Thank you very much for the share. You have some great uploads, keep it up!
