Historic note: The Priest's character is fictitious. Three priests served the village during Aurore's brief life and the final one who lived there during the end of the tragic events was Father Massé, who reported his suspicions of abuse to the local authorities, though like in the film too late to save the child's life. He later died not from suicide, but from an accidental dynamite explosion while clearing stones near his parish.

@dolds67 I'm not trying to sound horrible here but Sylvia Liken's never had a "home." Her parents were carnival workers & moved around a lot & put her in Gertrude's "care" to give her one. Which was destroyed & turned into a church parking lot in 2009. All that's really left is her grave. And I'm so sorry to hear about your abuse and your sister. I'm a survivor of abuse myself too. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as some, but still left its mark on me when I was 10 years old.

As a survivor of horrible abuse,it still helps to know I was not alone although I thought I was. Poor Aurore Gagon and Sylvia Lykins. I plan on visiting Sylvia's grave, marker, and home this summer. I want to thank the person who put this video. Its a good movie that shows what Edmond Burke in 1795 said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.Same with me, our preacher watched as I was slapped so hard I fell out of my chair.My newborn sister did not survive.
