This is such a great song. Sean Wilentz, in his book, "Bob Dylan in America," says nine takes of the song yielded "nothing usable," and it was cut from the album Infidels. Too bad, because the outtake on the Outfidels bootleg is wonderful. Mr. Farber's interpretation here gives a pretty good taste of the lyrics.

  • I want the song....not an explanation!!

  • This is really quite poorly done. He screws up the lyrics on more than one occassion. Drinks can be "fixed" not "mixed." Not sure who told this guy that he had talent....couldn't get through this....

  • what a great idea! and he really pulls it off, doesn´t he?

  • What's wrong with this guy?!!

  • This is really quite good.

  • I like this a lot. A terrific interpretation.

The character is delivering a eulogy.

  • NICE! (couldn't come with you on last end though... it didn't help)

  • I was surprised to find out this was actually pretty damn good!

  • hey, mister, thank you a lot for this video. My mind awake, listening to the text

..... I know the song well but it took me a minute to connect the text with the song, thats the beauty of it. Thak you.

    Reykjavik, Iceland, from possi.

  • I'd really lay off the smoking if I were you.
