after freezing a vertical concrete delivery system. we dismantled the pipe, bought them back to our shop and used a wash-out pig, some heat and about 120psi to clear the pipe of the frozen concrete.
WOW!! that was only 120 psi in a standard boom pipe length? That was more violent than I expected. the goes to show what can happen during a plug with air ingestion.
You probably know this now, but you should have used a pressure washer to push it out. water is virtually incompressible and cannot build energy like compressed air. If it was pressurized water - even 2000 psi, as soon as the concrete came out, the pressure would instaaneously drop to zero, it would be very anti-climactic.
