The underlying Affect-developmental foundations of deepening attachment by following the child's natural intent or lead (the underlying emotional foundations) are typically NOT engaged in the methodologies of ABA. Redirecting the child is by any stretch of the imagination is counter to Deepening attachment and developing an integrative social-cognitive-foundation.
