@touchthesky65 I was only quoting a verse, Ephesians 2:8 " For it is by grace ye have been saved, through faith, and this is not of your own, it is the GIFT of God, NOT by works so that no man may boast." The cause is faith, the effects are works. Works are but filthy rags in the face of God.

@christiskingofall I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I misuderstood you but I just want to point out that salvation is not only by grace or faith, for "Faith without works is dead" James 2:20...All of James chapter 2 actually discusses that faith and works go together hand in hand; James 2: 14 "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?" You are correct that we do need faith and God's grace of course, but works too

@Zebedex yes..a bishop's response is : "The church encourages family planning and responsibility. The use of contraceptives involves medical, practical, and economic concerns. Therefore, the church approves their use. There are many factors the couple ought to discuss with each other as well as their spiritual father to determine if they are indeed proceeding by God's will, and not for selfish reasons"
