Id like to point out that in sweden (and I'm swedish) people own guns because we hunt, most of our guns are hunting riffles, we don't own guns because we feel we need to defend ourselves against bad guys. You can only own a gun if you are a a member of an approved shooting club or have a hunting license, and you're not allowed to be carrying around a gun unless you are on your way to the shooting range etc...

If a country have responsible laws then responsible people will have guns (mostly).
