Rail Simulator - Durham to Ferryhill - Modern Test

***INFORMATION***

With the original "out of the box" route, Newcastle to York, being based in a bygone era before electrification, a few people have talked about, and started bringing the route up to modern standards. All seem to have been long forgotten now with no updated progress. I have no plans to modernise the whole route myself, but decided today to have a mess around with the Durham area initially, electrifying the track and bringing the station up to the modern era by lengthening platforms etc. I got a bit carried away, as I often do, and carried on to Ferryhill, adding the bridge at Tursdale and also reprofiling the junction north of Ferryhill to reflect what is present today. You will probably notice that there are no signals or speed limits on this section, well apart from the signal passed at danger at the start!

Doing the electrification has caused depleted frame rates at various points along the route as well as throwing up some issues with track levelling but as a test, which it was intended to be, I was fairly happy with the way it turned out.

Still is a possibility, mainly for freight traffic. Network Rail have been there a few times now to assess the work.

Looking good. One correction there is no gap between the southbound platform at Durham and the viaduct. the viaduct starts straight after the platform end as seen in my durham vids

Also would you perhaps be able to make a model of the southbound canopy
