I myself used to think God could never find room in his heart to love me or even know I existed because of my negative past.

@jesusfreak5174 What's the book with "all the proof about jesus" -- I've seen a lot of books that quote the Bible and quote people who believe in Jesus saying that they found reason for belief ... but I haven't seen any actual compelling evidence.

@jesusfreak5174 I'm so sorry you feel this way. There are a lot of things in the world to be happy about, you don't need to make up imaginary stories in order to have hope. I know a number of people who have struggled with depression, some religious and some not. I don't think there is a "god-shaped hole" waiting to be filled. I also know a lot of very happy people, some religious and some not. And even if belief was the only way to be happy, if it's false, I can't believe it.

@ruth4275 What? I've never believed in any gods. Is the reason you don't worship Allah that you got mad at him and decided you didn't want to? I'm not an atheist because I'm mad at your god. I don't think your god is real.

Like so many others, you tell me that the only way I'll find a good reason to believe is if I start by believing. Do you see how circular that is? I want evidence first, not wishful thinking.

@noforbiddenquestions The problem with being an atheist is U R believing lies. Usually it's because some time in your life, you've looked up & got angry & said how could God permit the evil in the world etc. Also, if you havent been impressed its because U never really found God. Often that's because U did not understand how to find Him. U have to come by Jesus or God the Father will not accept you & your prayer does not go above the ceiling. God is real, may U find Him.

@DarkArtsPrincess15 How r u princess? Have you found Him, the "living God who sees U"? I'm hoping so, but if U havent, here's the way. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth & the life, no man comes to the Father but by me." It's as simple as that, U come to Christ in prayer & say you want Him for your Lord & your God. None of us are good enough for heaven, but He made a way when He died for U & then rose again. Come and find the friend who sticks closer than a brother. Peace.

@noforbiddenquestions y not believe in jesus? i kno he's my only hope. when i was little and didn't really have faith in jesus, i was really depressed, i guess it was because i felt empty, there were no other reasons y i would be depressed. Now im one of the happiest ppl u could ever meet. Jesus is our only hope. other eligions don't offer hope unless u achieve perfection (which is impossible) if there isn't any other option of hope, y not just try having faith in jesus?
