@Andreas19997 I disagree. The Dutch had their goal which was unlike the British. Sure, we wanted colonies. The only thing is we didn't fight for areas that were already colonized by people from another nation, while the British did. More and more areas in the Americas were taken over by the British, The entire French colonization there was swepped away. If we fought indeed for already posessed land then yes, Dutch might have been the language of the world. And we traded it for Surinam btw.

So they sold it to the British.
A big mistake, otherwise Dutch could have been the language of the world now O___o
Well, if the fuel prices get any higher they will build new ones.
